The wedding invites are out

So, the wedding invites are made, stamped and posted. Looking to see if my degree in graphics was worth anything I made the invites from scratch...and not being disrespectful to people but I would like to think that people realise how much work and effort and time goes into making fairly 'simple looking' invites.

So buttons, lace and purple. The 'lace' is edging towards the vintage theme. Everything is buttons. I only made 20 invites, sending out one invite per family grouping, It still took me 3 days to make 20 invites.

Tags, stamped with 'Wedding invite, Embellished with glitter and a heat-gun to make it iridescent on the ink, random small purple buttons glued to each tag (they don't match!) and finally decorative scissors to put a fancy edging on the tag

Me applying purple lines to the tags

Purple lines applied

Invites, printed and hand cut out

Then glued onto purple backing card

Invites and backing card painstakingly cut out individually

(( Andrew being a little less helpful now :P ))

Paper doily and purple applied to the base card for the vintage feel

Time to punch those holes for sewing!

The first hole is made...

...and now holes, repeat x5 per card

String, knotted and now to hand thread a button onto each one, then into each card!

Buttons Thread to all the ivites

Finally attached the tags, glued in the invites, popped into envelopes and ready to post!

And that is about it, the main 'Daytime' invites have gone out and we are now awaiting those RSVP's!
Evening only invites will go out a little closer to the time as the numbers for the evening are a little more 'sketchy' anyway :)
